LIKO Noe®
LIKO-Noe® demonstrates what the office buildings will look like in the future. It connects the interior with the exterior, modern materials with nature. It reflects the workmanship precision, state-of-the-art technologies, functionality and attention to detail. It introduces the principles of old times' robust buildings and, at the same time renewability, into the segment of prefabricated buildings.
Natural Thermal Stabilization is in the heart of LIKO-Noe. What do we mean? The building works just with the energies from natural sources. The sun takes care of the electricity, the earth of heat or cold. Forget special machinery. Water is a symbiotic part of the concept - retention lake, water reservoir for the entire company area.
We believe that climate change in recent years do not worry only us. Spring season is changing, winters are without snow, unusual heat torments us in the summer. People in office buildings suffer from the heat or they live in the environment full of air conditioning technologies. The steel and glass building miss the element of natural thermal stabilization and we are simply not used to living in the cold draft that comes from above.
Therefore, we in LIKO-S decided two years ago to go our own way. We wanted to create an inspiring place to work and live well. Though our existing administrative building is a modern prefabricated building perfectly insulated by Icynene insulation, however it suffers from the same handicaps as thousands of similar buildings in the summer.
ENVIROMENT
Due to its orientation towards the sun, water and greenery, your building will not overheat. Our goal is to use installed technologies to mere ten per cent. The adjacent area of the retention pond near the building ensures a pleasant microclimate, reduces temperature and dust in the summer. Enough fresh air will be supplied by a heating and ventilation system with heat recovery, which in addition to providing air circulation takes care of heating and cooling as well. The number of floor outlets in cooperation with ground collector, a basement tank of cool air, and lively façade maintain a pleasant indoor temperature throughout the year. Thanks to this unique system of NATURAL THERMAL STABILIZATION, it is not necessary to use an air-condition system in LIKO-Noe® even in the hottest summer.
Diffuse permeable walls also contribute to healthy indoor air, as they let unwanted moisture and CO2 through. In the winter, the thermal comfort is taken care of by above mentioned systems and storage heaters with their pleasant radiant heat. The emphasis on a healthy environment is also reflected in the interior equipage. Wooden walls and oak floors are treated with ecological oil-based paint which does not emit harmful chemical vapours. Acoustic parameters are improved by special panels made from recycled PET bottles. It is thus not only nature but also its inhabitants who benefit from LIKO-Noe®.
Let's face it, who would not want to work in a pleasant and highly aesthetic natural environment while contributing to the restoration of biological diversity? Plants in green facades retain CO2 and dust, produce oxygen and moisturize the air.
WATER
LIKO-Noe® can capture and reuse all the water that is used in it.
The rain water is trapped in the retention pond and the waste water is pretreated thanks to the root waste water treatment plant. It is then used for irrigation, nutrition of the wetland facades or for flushing. Much of the water is also bound to lively wetland façade covered with plants. Due to the large volume of water, it perfectly balances the fluctuations of temperature and protects the building mainly against overheating. The water is collected in the retention lake that serves as a water reservoir for the whole company area in the dry season. The retention lake can also be used for accumulation of water during torrential rains.
The wetland roof and roof waste water treatment plant is a complex of water-saturated layers of materials placed on a flat roof which allows the growth of wetland plants. This formation has thickness of about 15 cm and together with water weighs approx. 150 kg/m. Water itself is not visible on the roof – its surface consists of gravel from which plants grow. Under a layer of gravel, a porous material is placed to which bacteria are attached who intensify the cleaning process. In the winter, the facade root water treatment plant is warmed up by the building heat, so that the cleaning process is not stopped even in the winter months. Waste water is dosed to the roof by the pump and overflows by gravity to the wetland facade. A facade purifier system consists of superposed stainless steel cartridges filled partially saturated with water. Wetland plants grow in the cassettes and bacteria live on the surface of a porous material, which increases the surface area for their placement and treatment efficiency in the system. The purified water flows into the evaluation shaft and, based on the measurement, it is determined whether the water has been sufficiently cleaned and can be used for flushing toilets or for irrigation or the process needs to be repeated
and water once again returned to the root water treatment plant. Besides waste water treatment, this wetland roof also reduces unwanted overheating of the roof cladding.
ENERGY
The aim of this concept is to prove that we can naturally stabilize the building in all seasons and achieve gradual minimization of all the technologies that are used in LIKO-Noe®.
An earth/water heat pump is the main source of energy and uses a ground collector as a primary energy source. The collector operates on surpluses of photo-thermal facade. The solar system with a unique photo-thermal facade oriented to the south provides optimum solar gains in the winter. The composition of the photo-thermal facade eliminates summer surpluses, reduces stagnation stages and in conjunction with a water surface improves solar gain through reflection on the water. Symbiosis of the two often incompatible technologies creates a unique solution where the heat pump technology and the solar system complement each other.
Solar system operates with secondary accumulation. It works with lower temperatures and higher efficiency of conversion of solar radiation into heat in the ground base. Thanks to the regeneration of the ground collector by the sun, the heat pump works with a higher heating factor and lower power consumptions which leads to the unique interaction of these technologies. Due to unique lively LIKO-Noe facade, the photo-thermal facade was installed outside of the LIKO-Noe building. Solar collectors primarily supply energy to the tank for heating, hot water and low temperature surpluses are accumulated in the soil.
